Actun Caan Caves

These caves feature the best cave tours in Central America, because there is no guide, just a few naked lightbulbs atop metal thingys. Mud colored, cool, moist and full of bats, you get a lotta cave for your quetzales here. The loos look like outhouses but contain clean porcelain pots that flush. A few feet away people live underneath a semi-enclosed wooden shack and cook over a fire.
